Glossy light olive and tan blending to medium olive brown in the protected areas. The surfaces are smooth except for a couple small chips in the center of both sides and a spot of very fine verdigris in the hair under the I in AUCTORI. Not as sharply detailed as the Perkins and Ford examples but the surfaces are vastly superior, just worn. Later die state with a small cud break over the A in AUCTORI and a die crack through AU plus a larger cud connecting the shoulder to the rim. The date is clear and the legends are easily readable. Weight 143.9 grains.
