Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are smooth except for a half dozen rather deep planchet chips on both sides, mostly in the centers, and these small chips contain dark planchet slag. No notable contact marks. Struck slightly off center to the top (bottom on the reverse side) leaving some elements slightly off the planchet. The date is complete and easily readable but not strong. Late die state with significant swelling on the left side of the obverse, and the swelling was strong enough to obliterate some of the devices. A rare die state of a very tough variety. Weight 148.2 grains.
