An ET LIR variety. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with light steel brown toning on the highpoints. Smooth except for the usual tiny planchet chips in the centers where the strike is soft with additional chipping along the right edge of both sides. No corrosion or verdigris, and the only notable mark is a very light scratch in the field close off the leg of the seated figure. Late die state with swelling in the obverse fields and mushy details. The obverse is slightly off center to the bottom while the reverse is nearly centered on the planchet. Only the bottom edge of the 1 in the date is off the planchet; everything else is complete. Called “Third Finest Seen” in the Perkins catalog. Weight 155.5 grains.
