Mostly glossy medium steel brown and light chocolate. No corrosion or roughness but there are several very dull scratches on the upper half of the obverse plus some significant planchet flaws. The most-significant flaw is a partial delamination at the bust tip that obliterates most of the A in AUCTORI. On the plus side the date is nearly full and easily readable with just the very bottoms of the numerals off the planchet. Most of the examples known of this very rare variety come with significant planchet and surface problems, so waiting for a choice one may not be a viable option. And this piece has details that are superior to most. Weight 131.0 grains.
