Double Strike Ex Martin
An ET LIR variety. Glossy light to medium brown with an arc of darker chocolate brown toning along the right edge of the obverse. No notable defects, just worn. This piece was struck two times. The first impression was centered on the planchet; the second was about 20% off center to K-12. The date from the second strike is tight to the edge but it is easily readable; the ET LIR feature is weak but visible. Later die state with die clashmarks and swelling on both sides. A nice example of this type of mint error. Weight 148.0 grains.
