Glossy chocolate brown and steel with mint frost covering the protected areas on both sides. Smooth and very attractive. Nearly void of defects; a few very minor rim bruises on both sides are the only marks, and they are barely visible. A tiny planchet flake on the lower part of the last S in MASSACHUSETTS can help identify this piece. Intermediate die state with a radial die crack through the second T in MASSACHUSETTS, but the crack fades out before reaching the wing. Better struck than most; the Indian’s belt is complete. Our grade is EF40. An attractive, well struck example of this tough die variety.
