Rather glossy medium brown with chocolate brown in protected areas. Most of the planchet is smooth but there are areas of fine roughness on both sides plus a few planchet fissures. The notable planchet flaws are a horizontal fissure across the upper part of the neck and another across the lower part of the seated figure into the shield. Rather well centered on the planchet, just slightly low on the obverse. The date is bold and the legends are clear. Late die state with a strong die crack on the lower left part of the reverse. The plain of the planchet is noticeably higher above the crack than it is below the crack. A neat die state for this very rare variety. Weight 133.1 grains.
