Glossy medium steel brown and olive with lighter brown toning in some of the protected areas and darker steel brown on the highpoints. The surfaces are smooth except for a couple thin lines of planchet chips on the right side of the reverse. Otherwise the only marks are a spot of darker olive brown toning high on the throat and a small rim nick at the top of the obverse. Nearly centered on the planchet and well struck with a bold date and legends. EDS with an uncracked reverse. A very nice mid-grade example of a 1776-dated Machin’s piece. Weight 111.6 grains.
