Glossy chocolate brown. The surfaces are reasonably smooth but not perfectly so with shallow planchet flakes showing on both sides, especially on the reverse. No verdigris and the notable contact marks are several fine hairline scratches on the obverse. Some of the devices are sharper than the assigned grade but others are weaker. Late die state with a wave slanting across both sides and extensive die rust evident below and to the right of the plow beam. The date is weak but readable as are most of the legends. Weight 132.8 grains.
