Nearly AU50 by technical standards with sharp details and just a touch of wear on the highpoints, but there is a deep punch at the top of the head that created an obvious bulge above the 7 in the date. The upper half of the obverse and lower half of the reverse are covered with linear planchet striations and voids; the rest of the planchet is smooth and essentially flawless. Glossy light olive brown and chocolate. Later die state with swelling and die cracks on both sides. Struck slightly off center to K-11.5 leaving the lower half of the date off the planchet. The CONNFC error is bold. A sharp but flawed piece that comes with a nice provenance. The Miller attribution is noted in white ink in the field before the chin. Weight 123.1 grains.
