S-120b Ex Dr. Sheldon-Doug Smith

Very attractive glossy olive brown and steel with traces of frosty lighter steel brown toning in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and nearly flawless. The only notable mark, and it is trivial, is a very light rim bruise at TY in LIBERTY. M-LDS, Breen state V, with crumbling on the profile of Ms Liberty and a fine die crack from the dentils along the left side of the U in UNITED. The Gripped Edge feature is strong (a series of lumps and incuse grip marks, Breen’s edge I). A beautiful cent, typical of the quality collected by legendary collector C. Douglas Smith. Comes with an impressive provenance.
