Mostly glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The obverse is smooth and choice but the reverse is covered with microscopic roughness mixed with very fine laminations reaching across the planchet from NW to SE. A shallow void at the B in LIB is the most significant flaw on this coin. Technically sharper where the designs are properly impressed but weakly struck on the right of both sides, especially on the obverse where most of CONNEC is faint or missing. The 17 is clear but the 88 is faint. Weight 117.5 grains.
