Slightly glossy medium chocolate brown with lighter brown toning on the devices. The planchet is reasonably smooth and there are no fissures or other planchet flaws, just light contact marks scattered over both sides. A dull rim nick at the second C in CONNEC and a few very fine hairline scratches on both sides are the notable marks. Well struck on the left half of both sides, weaker on the right. Most of the legends are clear but the 86 in the date is faint. Weight 157.4 grains.
